Stanley Mareka


Stanley Mareka is a distinguished dancer, choreographer, and educator with over two decades of dedication to the Namibian performing arts scene. His formal training at the Berlin Tanzakademie Balance 1 program deepened his understanding of dance techniques, influencing his work in local dance theory and practice. In 2007, Mareka founded the Equipped Performance Arts and Corporate Affairs Academy, a platform connecting young dancers with business opportunities. As a celebrated artist, he won the Channel O Dance Africa Competition in 2008 and has showcased his talent across Africa. Mareka’s notable contributions include directing and choreographing major national events and co-founding DanceSport Namibia. Known as the “African Cobra,” his innovative approach continues to elevate professional dance practices in Namibia.

A&H Dance Hub

Founded in 2022 by Armand and Alta, A&H Dance Hub emerged from a transformative dance competition experience. Recognizing the need to uplift Namibia’s dance community post-pandemic, the duo established the hub to provide quality Latin and Ballroom dance training. Their mission is to ignite potential, foster discipline, and raise the standard of dance through dedication and passion. By creating a space for growth and inspiration, A&H Dance Hub is committed to transforming the local dance culture.


Hozalas Finest

Since its inception in 2010, Hozalas Finest has been a dynamic force in Namibian dance, utilizing its craft as a medium of communication for various brands and organizations. With a team that includes scriptwriters and actors, Hozalas Finest creates impactful theatrical performances for leading Namibian entities such as FNB, Bank Windhoek, and Namib Mills. Their participation in the Otjomuise Live Arts Festival reflects their ongoing commitment to meaningful and engaging performances.

Nashipolo Justina Andreas

Justina Nashipolo Andreas is a talented performer with a diverse background in dance and the arts. Trained at the College of the Arts, her expertise spans African drumming, ballet, and contemporary dance. With awards in contemporary and modern dance, Justina has graced both local and international stages, including Germany. A BA graduate in Drama and Advertising from UNAM, she is celebrated for her exceptional movement and acting skills and remains a vibrant force in the dance community through teaching and performance.

Keanu Greeves & Caitlin Theron

Keanu Greeves and Caitlin Theron began their creative partnership in 2021, quickly gaining recognition through their successful collaboration on various dance projects. Their achievements include top placements in competitions like The Namibian Championships and impactful #BeFree Awareness Campaigns. Their shared vision led to the creation of CODESYNC, a platform dedicated to expanding Namibia’s dance community through workshops and private classes, fostering growth and innovation in the local dance scene.

University of Namibia:
The School of Humanities, Society and Development, Performing & Visual Arts Section

Since its establishment in 1982, the School of Humanities, Society, and Development at the University of Namibia has been a cornerstone of arts education. With programs in drama, music, and visual arts, the department has produced some of Namibia’s most talented theatre makers and performers. Its commitment to excellence in industrial theatre and award-winning works continues to shape Namibia’s performing arts landscape.

Shashitwako Shafondjodi Muteka

Shashitwako Shafondjodi Muteka is a versatile artist whose journey began with a traditional dance at the Namakokolo Cultural Group. As the Creative Director of the Dynamic Arts Club and a student at the College of the Arts, Shashitwako has enriched his skills in African Performing Arts. His involvement in the Otjomuise Live Arts Festival and other significant events highlights his dedication to performance and his role in the Namibian arts community.

UC BOYZ

UC BOYZ is a collective of young, multi-talented artists driven by their passion for dance. The group includes Kula, a dancer, graphic artist, and music producer, and Uzziel, a dancer and coach. Ernesto, a dancer and singer, rounds out the team. Together, they bring a blend of creativity and innovation to their performances, creating their emerging impact on Namibia’s dance scene.

EL MICAH IYAMBO

El Micah Iyambo, a creative force from Windhoek, is involved in diverse visual arts including photography, fashion, and graphic design. With a background in dance and spoken word, El Micah’s artistic journey began with the Street Style Stories workshop by Nikhita Winkler. His contributions to the creative industry, including his role with the Fashion Council of Namibia, reflect his commitment to youth empowerment and artistic development in Namibia.

Gift Uzera, Kazupo Ndjoze, and Maya Katjatenja

Kazupo Ndjoze and Maya Katjatenja are dancers known for their exceptional skills to the dance community. Kazupo is known for  his energetic Oviritje style, while Maya has garnered international recognition for her versatile performances. Gift Uzera, a skilled dancer and choreographer, adds depth with his background in film and theatre. Together, they inspire and elevate Namibia’s contemporary dance scene through their innovative performances and projects.

College of the Arts

College of the Arts

The College of the Arts (COTA) in Windhoek is a premier institution for arts education, offering degree programs in African Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Fashion Design, and more. Established to nurture creative talent, the college has a strong track record of producing award-winning performers and establishing industry connections, contributing significantly to Namibia’s cultural and artistic growth.

In OLAF 2024, the COTA Dance Ensemble, formerly known as the Da-mai Dance Ensemble, will participate under the choreography of Angelika Schroeder. Schroeder has over thirty years of dance experience, specializing in African and Contemporary dance, though she is proficient in other styles as well. She teaches the technical aspects of dance and creates original choreography. Her passion and mission are to remain innovative in developing a distinctive Namibian contemporary style that is both entertaining and appreciated, and to ensure it is documented for future use by other creatives.

Rhythm in Motion

Originally known as Jika Majive, Rhythm in Motion was re-established in 2021 with a mission to uplift Windhoek’s younger generation through dance. Co-founded by Zacharia Gariseb, also known as Xallamo, the group focuses on using dance, particularly Panstula, as an escape and a means of empowerment for their community. Their work continues to inspire and engage through their dynamic performances and creative projects.

Timo HappyFeet Timez

Timo HappyFeet Timez began his dance journey in 2006 and became a professional in 2015 with Equipped Dance Academy. As a DSSC level 1 adjudicator and coach, he has contributed to major events such as the COSAFA Cup and the World Rugby Championships. Founder of Happy Feet Dance Practice, Timo’s expertise and passion for dance continue to make a significant impact on Namibia’s artistic community.

Fresh Gang

The Fresh Gang Collective brings a unique style to their performances, combining local flavour with their distinct musical and fashion interests. Known for their “steeze,” they focus on blending innovative movement with various sounds to create engaging and memorable dance experiences.

Magkgona Ngwao Cultural Group (Ona)

The Magkgona Ngwao Cultural Group, established in 2007, is dedicated to preserving Setswana traditional dances. Their performances have reached international audiences in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Setswana dance on a global stage. For OLAF 2024, the group will showcase both Setswana and San traditional dance repertoires.

Bupe Chiwala

Bupe Chiwala, a Zambian-born artist based in Windhoek, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Music and Advertising at the University of Namibia. Her passion for stage and screen is matched by her dedication to using art as a means of connection and self-expression. An award-winning dancer and performer, Bupe is committed to making a positive impact through her creative endeavours.
